Superman 75th Anniversary

I wanted to contribute to the the 2013 souvenir book for the San Diego Comic Con. So I looked at the topics and chose Superman. There has been a lot of talk in the news lately about the Superman rights involving the heirs of the original creators. I did a little research and found a few photographs of the young Jerry Siegel Joe Shuster. I decided to draw them coming up with Superman. I imagined them in some office with some of their other creations on the wall just throwing ideas around for this man from another planet who could outrace a locomotive and leap over tall buildings. So this is a Superman tribute piece where the focus really isn't on him, but on his creators instead. Hopefully I managed to recreate how those first moments in Superman's life might have looked! I wish I could have been a fly on that wall.
